To 6 gallons pure proof-spirits add:- 1 drachm of the essential oil of anise– seed, cut in alcohol. 4 gallons clear soft water. 1£ gallons simple sirup. Agitate as before, and proceed as directed in No ~.

No. 4.-ANISE-SEED CORDIAL.

To 5 gallons pure proof-spirits add:- 1 drachm oil of anise-seed, cut in alco– hol, as before. 3 gallons clear soft water. 1 ~ gallons simple sirup.

Agitate, and manage as directed in formula No. 2.
