401. Bottle-wax, Black. 1 lb.ofrosin,white and transparent; meltit in a tin dish over a slow fire; add about ^ an ounce of boiled linseed oil (varnish), so as when a drop is taken out on a cold stone it loses its brittleness; then add 1 ounce of lamp-black, Bthred in until aU lumps are dissolved. 402. Bottle-wax, G-reen. 1 lb. of rosin, white and transparent; melt it in a tin dish over a slow fire; add about i an ounce of boiled lin seed oil (varnish), so as when a drop is taken out on a cold stone it loses its brittle quality; then mix in 4 ounces of chrome green, stirred until the lumps are dissolved. 403. Bottle-wax, Yellow. 1 lb. of rosin, wbite and transparent; melt it in a tin dish over a slow fire; add about ^ an ounce of boiled lin seed oil or varnish, so as when a drop is taken out on a cold stone it loses its brittle character; then mix in 4 ounces of chrome yellow, finely powdered; stir until all lumps are dissolved. 404.
