Let all the above be mixed thoroughly together ; every day for a fortnight, then press and filter.

powdered cinnamon, half an ounce ; powdered aniseed, half an ounce; powdered orris root, quarter of an ounce; nut- megs, quarter of an ounce ; cloves, one drachm ; carda- moms, one drachm ; proof spirit, two gallons ; capillaire, half a gallon; gold foil a few leaves.
