COQUETJE FLATTEUSE.

91. Color, Yello-w. Mix i lb. Araei'ican safiron, cat very line, with 1 quart of alcohol, 95 j^er cent.; put it in a covered jar, in a warm place, and let it stand for 8 days; then press, filler, and bottle for use. A yellow coloring may also be made of turmeric i istead ofsaffron. Observe the same proportions, and make in the same way. 92. Color, Purple. Mix -J-!b. elderberries,mashed to a pulp,with 1 quart of of alcohf 1, 95 per cent. Macerate (see hTo. 5)in a warm place for B days;then press, filter, and bottle for use.

93. Color, Red.

1 ounce offinely-powdered cochineal. ^ drachm ofcalcinated alum.

3Iriled with a quart of water,in an earthen dish; add 1 q

use.

94. Color, Violet.

1 pint ofblue color. 3 pints ofred color. 1 lix together.

95. Coquette Flatteuse.

31 drops ofoil ofrose. 4? do. on of mace. 31 do. essence of ambergris.

Iissolve in 3 gallons of alcohol,95 per cent.; then add a sjrup made of 42 lbs. of sugar and 4J gallons of watei (see No. 7). Color rose (see No. 93).
