The first and most important is the fm-nace: temporary- accommodations,under the name offurnaces, only prolong the operations ofthe distiller,and render his products very often imperfect. With a good fire, oxidL proper apparatus, work can he accomplished with readiness and comparativi ease; whereas,the ordinary measures of every day's ey periments often fail of success.
