4 table-spoons of white sugar. 2 tumblers of water.

1 lemon, in slices. 1 bottle of claret. 4 table-spoons of Santa Cruz or Jamaica. Ice.

184. Kn i cke rbocke r . (Use small bar glass.) 1/2 a lime, or lemon, squeeze out the juice, and put ri and juice in the glass. 2 teaspoonfuls of raspberry syrup. Cool with shaved i c e ; shake up well, and ornamen with berries in season. I f this is not sweet enough, put in a little more raspberry syrup. 185 . Runmf u s t i an . This is the singular name bestowed upon a drink very much in vogue with English sportsmen, after their return from a day 's shooting, and is concocted thus : 1 wine-glass Santa Cruz rum. 1/2 teaspoonful of CuraƧoa.
