GUM SYRUP.

Soda Cooktail (Use large soda-glass.)

2 dashes Angostura bitters. 1 bottle of plain soda. 3 or 4 small lumps of ice. Take 1 tea-spoonful of powclered white sugar. Pour the soda-mater upon the other ingredients, stir well with a spoon, then remove the ice, and serve.

Plain Syruy, Take 1> pounds of loaf-sugar..

~s gallon of water.

The white of 1 egg. Boil until dissolved, and filter through fiannel.

Gum Syrup. Take 14 pounds of loaf-sugar.

Boil together fo r f i ve m i nu t es, and add wa ter t o make up to two gallons. 1 gallon of water.
