MIXED DRINKS. Sauternes. First growths, Chateau La Tour Blanche, Bommes,etc. Second growths.Chateau Myoat,Barsac, etc.- We mention the sparkling wines of France in a special article on Champagne wine. Next to France comes Spain in reputation for any considerable quantity of good wines, commercially speaking. She sailed into prominence on sherry,which is known in many countries, and the red wines of Ter- rogona and Eioja have since entered largely into the commerce ot the Peninsular. France sells or stores her high-priced wines and buys cheaper ones from Spain, America and other countries, for blending and home consumption. Spain also exports, via Catalona, large quantities of what are known as Spanish reds, viz.,portand claret,to Great Britian and other countries, and they they are of good quality, too. Sherry gets its name from Jerez (Xeres) de la Frontero, the central point of this industry in Andalu sia, Spain. The best Spanish sherries are dry Manzan- illa,Amontillado and Vino de Pasto. The Amonitallado class is subdivided into Fino and Oloroso. A similar wine is known as Montilloj another is Moguer used for blending. Malaga is a sweet wine from Muscat grapes.
