Dissolve the oils in the spirit, and t he extracts in water, add both together a t once, sha ke violently fo r some minutes ; next add the syrup and the remainder of the water, and again shake up well. Let it stand aside some days , the longer the better, then filter through paper.

ANGOSTURA BITTERS.

4 oz. Angostura bark. r oz. chamomile flowers . K oz. cardamom seeds. K oz. cinnamon bark. r oz. orange peel. r lb. raisins. 2 :U gallons proof spirit. Macerate for a month, then press and filter..

WINE BITTERS.

r thin peel of lemon. r thin peel of bitter orange. 3 oz. good sherry . 2 oz. water. Infuse.

BRANDY BITTERS.

4 lbs. gentian root. 2 lbs. cardamom seeds 1 lb. cinnamon bark. K lb. cochineal. 2 lbs. chireta.
