THE ART OF MIXING THEM

Hot Irish Punch. ( A hot water glass.) 1 or 2 lumps of sugar; 1 or 2 dashes of lemon juice; 1 wineglass of Irish whisky; fill up with hot water. Stir well; place a slice of lemon on top; grate a little nutmeg. Hot Milk Punch. (A large bar glass.) 1 tablespoon of sugar;% wineglass of St. Croix rum; % wineglass of brandy; fill the glass with hot milk. Mix well with a spoon; grate nutmeg on top. Always mix with a spoon. Never use the shaker to this. Hot Rxun. (A hot water glass.) 1 teaspoon of sugar; a small lump of butter; 1 wineglass of Jamaica rum. Fill the glass with hot water; stir well; omit spices. Hot Scotch Whiskey Sling. (A hot water glass.) 1 wineglass of Scotch whisky; 1 lump of sugar; a piece of lemon peel; fill the glass % full of boiling water; grate nut meg on top. Hot Spiced Rum. (A hot water glass.) 1 teaspoon of sugar; 1 teaspoon of mixed whole allspice and cloves, and a piece of butter about the size of a small mar ble; 1 wineglass of Jamaica rum. Fill glass with hot water; mix well. Hot Whisky Punch. (A hot whisky glass.) The juice of i/g lemon; 1 or 2 lumps of sugar, dissolved in 1 wineglass of hot water; 2 wineglasses of Scotch or Irish whisky; fill glass with boiling water and place
