Jersey. Another Way.

Put into a tumbler holding half a pint two or three nice lumps of crystal ice, add one tea- spoonful of sifted sugar, one teaspoonful of orange bitters, half a wineglass ofbrandy, fill up with cider and mix well. Serve with a piece of lemon-peel on top. Manhattan. Put into a large tumbler half a wineglass of vermouth, half a wineglass of whisky, thirty drops of gum syrup, ten drops of Angostura bitters, and six drops of cura^oa; add a little shaved ice, shake well, strain into a wineglass, and put a small piece of lemon-peel on the top. Martini. Put into a tumbler thirty drops of gurn syrup, thirty drops of orange bitters, half a wineglass of gin, and half a wineglass of vermouth; fill with shaved ice, shake well, strain into a claret glass, andput a small piece of lemon-peel on top. Newport. Into a tumbler holding half a pint put two or three lumps of clear ice and a small slice of lemon; add six drops of Angostura, half a wineglass of noyau, and half a wineglass of brandy; stir well. Serve with a piece of lemon-peel on the top.
