MARTINEZ COCKTAIL'

Use small bar glass

One dash of bitters. Two dashes of maraschino. One pony of Old Tom gin.

One wineglass of vermouth. Two small lumps of ice.

Shake up thoroughly, and strain into a large cocktail glass. Put a quarter of a slice of lemon in the glass, and serve. If the guest prefers it very sweet add two dashes of gum syrup.

SODA COCKTAIL

Use large soda glass

One teaspoonful of pow dered white sugar. Two dashes of bitters. One bottle of plain soda. Three or four small lumps of ice. Pour the soda water upon the other ingredients, stir well with a spoon,then remove the ice,and serve.

MORNING GLORY COCKTAIL

Use medium bar glass

One pony of whiskey. One piece of lemon peel, twisted to express the oil. Two small pieces of ice.

Three dashes of gum syrup. Two dashes of curagao. Two dashes of bitters. One dash of absinthe. One pony of brandy. 2 Now called Martini.
