BRANDY AND GINGER ALE

Into a large glass pour a wine-glass of brandy, two or three lumps of ice and fill up with ginger ale; drink while still effervescent.

COLD IRISH

Pour into a large glass two wine-glasses of water in which a teaspoonful of fine white sugar has been dis– solved, add a wine-glass of Irish whiskey and a large lump·of ice; stir with a spoon, and serve very cold.
