Toasts
For many of the following excellent toasts the author is under singular obligations.
Pleasure has its time; so, too, has Wisdom. Make love in thy youth. And in old age attend to thy salvation. Drink! for you know not whence you came. Nor why; Drink! for you know not why you go. Nor whence.
Woman — she needs no eulogy; She speaks for herself. May we kiss whom we please, And please whom we kiss.
