JACKS MANUAL

Life is but a merry spree With its joy and trouble. Woman is the tempting glass, Flirtation is the bubble.

Come,a health! And it's not to be slighted with sips, A cold pulse, or a spirit supine — All the blood in my heart seems to rush to my lips To commingle its flow with the wine.

Here's a toast to all who are here. No matter where you're from; May the best day you have seen v Be worse than your worst to come.

Here's to the maiden of bashful fifteen; Here's to the widow of fifty; Here's to the flaunting, extravagant queen. And here's to the housewife that's thrifty!

Were't the last drop in the well, As I gasp'd upon the brink. Ere my fainting spirit fell, 'Tis to thee thatI would drink.

Here's to the lasses we've loved, my lad, Here's to the lips we've pressed;

For of kisses and lasses. Like liquor in glasses. The last is always the best.

May your joy be as deep as the ocean, / Your trouble as light as its foam.

Here's to love and unity. Dark corners and opportunity^/
