SODA NEGUS. (Use a small punch bowl; about I quart.; I pint of P ort wine. 12 lumps- of loaf sugar. 8 cloves . Grated nutmeg sufficient to fill a small t easpoon; put the above ingredients into a thoroughly clean saucepan, warm and stir them well, but do not suffe::– it t o boil; upon the warm wine empty a bottle of plain soda. This makes a delicious and r efreshing drink. CLARET CUP A LA BRUNOW. (For a party of ten.) Take ... ~ bottle of claret. 1-3 pint of Curacoa. 7f pint of sherry. 7( pint of brandy.. 1 wine-glass of raspberry ratafia ~see index). 17f oranges , in slices. 1 Ya lemon, in slices. Stir all these together wi th some sprigs of green balm and borage, and a small piece of cucumbe~rind ; sweet en v0th capillaire or powdered sugar .unt:l it ferments; let it stand one hour, strain and ice it well.
