Million Dollar Cocktail (Tokio,Japan) This is the recipe as shaken in the Empire Hotel, Tokio, when I was there in 1934. It is a much improved version ofthe same drink as served in England round that date (recipe on a later page). Pour into a shaker ofice: 1^measures ofgin ^measure sweet Italian Vermouth 2 teaspoonfuls pineapplejuice 2 teaspoonfuls lemonjuice 2 teaspoonfuls fresh cream I teaspoonful Grenadine ^white ofegg Shake well and strain into a champagne glass.

Nicolaska (Hamburg) Pour into a small glass: I measure brandy

Place a slice oflemon withoutpeel on the rim of the glass, sprinkle liberally with powdered sugar and finely ground coffee. Method of drinking: Place the lemon with the sugar and coffee coating in the mouth and suck the brandy through it.
