To obtain the trueflavour and enjoyment ofthese drinks, you must adhere rigidly to the prescribed procedure. STIR AND STRAIN.Putsome ice in a mixing glass and stir in the ingredients until cold. Then pour the contents through a strainer (see illustration on page 15) into another glass. SHAKE AND STRAIN.Put some ice in a cocktail shaker, pour in the ingredients and then shake shortly and sharply unless otherwise instructed. Then strain the drink into the appropriate glass. OLD-FASHIONED.An Old-Fashioned drink should be served in an Old-Fashioned glass (see illustration on page 15), and is prepared in the following way, the drink being mixed and served in thesame glass.Putalump ofsugar and a small amount of water in the glass. Add the Angostura (where directed) and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Then stir in the other ingredients until cold.
