It produces the greatest, rarest and probably the most imi tated of wine. Although not officially classified like the Bordeaux wines, the Burgundies have always been considered as the kings of all wines. The Cote de Dijon, the Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune (Cote d'Or or Golden Hills) and the Cote Chalonnalse produce in an average good year about 300,000,000 bottles, and without any exaggeration fully ten times that amount of wine is sold throughout the world as Burgundy from France. The Rhone Valley (Cotes du Rhone) also produces excellent red and white wines. The outstanding brands are Cote Rotie, Hermitage, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Chateau Grillet, and Tavel (couleur rosee).
