Split Turkay. Put the white of one egg into a mixing-glass, add half a tablespoonful fine sugar, the juice of one-fourth of a lemon, one jigger Tom gin, one jigger Italian vermouth, fill with fine ice; shake well, strain into two long bar-glasses, and fill up with cold carbonic or seltzer water. This is a pleasant ladies' drink. Stone Fence. Serve plain whiskey or apple ·brandy with cider on the side. Stone Wall. One lump of ice in a long thin punch-glass, one bar-spoonful fine sugar, one jigger of whiskey, add_ a bottle of cold plain soda; stir and drink during effervescence. Tam o' Shanter: Heat half a pint of ale to the boiling point, pour into .a mug, add one teaspoonful fine sugar and one jigger of brandy; mix · and grate a little nutmeg on top. Syllabub.
