ounce of calamus root. 1^- do. angelica root, la do. galanga root. 4 do. quassia wood. do. gentian root. 3 drachms of nutmegs. 3 do. cloves.

Ground to coarse powder; macerate with 4-J- gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent.,for two weeks, or displace (see Nob. 4 and 5); add lbs. of bro^vn sugar, boiled,and clarified with 51 gallons of water (see No.6); color it with 71 ounces of sugar coioring, dark brown. (See No. 88.) Filter. If lb. of orange peel. If lb. of orange apples. If lb. of gentian root. If lb. of lemon peel. Ground to coarse powder; macerate or displace with gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent.,mixed â– with 2|- gallons of water. Filter. (See Nos. 3, 4 and 6.) 44.
