BLUE BLAZER.

Use two lar^e silverplated Mugs with handles.

One wine glass of Scotch whiskey; one wine glass of boiling ■water. Put the whiskey and boiling water in one mug, ignite the liquid, and while blazing mix both ingredients by pouring them four or five times from one mug to the other. If well done, this will have the appearance of a continued stream of fire. Sweeten with one tea-spoonful of powdered white sugar, and serve ina small tumbler, with a piece of lemon.

151 BURNT BRANDY AND PEACH. Use smalltumbler.

This drink is very popular in the Southern States, where it is sometimes used as a cure for diarrhoea. One wine glass of Cognac ; half a table-spoonful of white sugar ; two or three slices of dried peach. Place the dried fruit in a glass, and pour the liquid over them.

BLACK STRIPE. Use small tumbler.

One wine glass of Santa Cruz rum; one table-spoonful of molasses. This drink can either be made in summer or winter. If in the former season, mix in one table-spoonful of water, and •cool with chipped ice ; if in the latter, fill up the tumbler with boiling water. Grate a little nutmeg on top in either case. PEACHand;HONEY. Use small tumbler. A table-spoonful of honey ; a wine glass of peach brandy. Stir with a spoon. 153
