Cordial, Green Gage. 8 lbs. of ripe gages and 42 lbs. of sugar, 4^ gallpns of water; boil them tender and make them to a pulp, skim and take from the fire, then add; 4 ounces of currant jelly. 4 do. dates, cut in small pieces. 4 do. figs, do. do. Vs pint of orange juice. 3 do. sherry wine. I do. calf's-foot jelly. I ounce 0 f candied lemon. I do. cinnamon. I do. cloves. 2 do. ginger. I do. nutmeg. I do. pimento. All coarsely powdered; macerate for one week and add 2 gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent; strain, press ana filter. SO. Cordial, Lemon. 2 lbs. of fresh lemon peel. do. roasted wheat bread, crusts, do. cinnamon, crushed. Yo, ounce of nutmeg, do. Cut small and macerate for one week with 51.^ gallons of alfcohol, 95 per cent, and 5V2 gallons of water.
