of Malaga raisins boiled with one gallon of water, and mix with the above; press and filter it through a flannel while hot. 74. Cordial, Caraway. 6 drachms of oil of caraway dissolved in 3 gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent; add a syrup made of 42 lbs. of sugar and 4% gallons of water. Filter. 75. Cordial, Cherry. 30 lbs. of cherries, red sour, without stems, make- them to a pulp and macerate with 4^ gallons of alcohol, 95 syrup made of 42 lbs. of sugar and 3V2 gallons of water. Filter. 76. Cordial, Cinnamon. / 1/2 ounce of oil of cinnamon, dissolved in 3 gallons, of alcohol, 95 per cent; then add a syrup made of 42. lbs. sugar, and 3V2 gallons of water. Filter. 77. Cordial, Cloves. ', 12 ounces of cloves, Ground to a coarse powder; macerate or displace with gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent, and gal lons of water. Distil from off the water 5 gallons of aromatic spirit, and then add a syrup made of 24 lbs. of sugar and 3% gallons of water. Color brown with tincture of cloves. 78. Cordial} Ginger. 10 ounces of ground ginger, 5 drops of oil of berga- macerate it with 3 gallons of alcohol 95 per cent. 2 do. orris root. 2 do. cinnamom. do. cardamom.
