Hal f and Half (American Style). A glass half-full of old ale, fill up with new ale . Half and Half (English Style). A g lass or mug half-full porter, then fill up with a le. Hari-Kari. A m ix ing-glass h alf-full fine ice, one tablespoon– ful fine sugar , the juice of h alf a lemon , one jig– ger Bourbon whiskey ; shake well, stra in into a long thin g lass, fill w ith seltzer. Trim with fruit. Horse's Neck. Cut the peel from a lemon i n one long piece, place in a thin punch-g lass, a dd a bottle of cold impor ted g inger ale . Hot Apple Toddy. One lump sugar dissolved with a little water in a hot-drink g lass , add one jigger apple brandy, a pi ece lemon peel, a quarter of a baked apple, fill w ith boiling water; mix , and grate nutmeg on top.
