HOW TO TREAT PATRONS The first consideration of the man behind the bar is to treat customers with consideration, politeness and respect, and to see that they get what they want, and that they get the grade of goods to which they are entitled, whether in the line of wines, liquors or cigars. Of course the brand must depend upon the class of house which is kept, because it stands to reason that some houses, because of the nature of their trade, could not afford to carry a high class line of anything, while another house could not afford to have anything but the best it is possible to buy. Treat everyone fairly and justly and have no fav orites. One man's money is—all things considered— just as good as another's, providing, of course, he is not so intoxicated that he should be refused. And here is where a saloon man's best judgment is brought into play. He should know how to treat the man who has drunk too much, and he should be careful not to abuse him. There are times when
