On top of the ice place a Maraschino cherry with a sprig of the mint stuck into it. Serve with straws. Into the mixing glass with ice put three drops Angostura or Pey- chaud bitters one measure French vermouth; stir until cold, and serve with a hazel nut. Vermouth is one of the mildest of liquors, containing only about 20 per cent alcohol, and may be served to those who like only a very mild stimu lant. If preferred sweet, use the Italian vermouth, when a cherry is served instead of a nut. 49 Vermouth Cocktail.
