Mississippi. Put into a large tumbler one wineglass of brandy, half a wineglass of Jamaica rum, half a wineglass of Bourbon whisky, half a wine glass of water, and a tablespoonful of icing sugar; nearly fill the tumbler with shaved ice, shake well; ornament with a slice of lemon, the like of orange, and berries; serve with a strainer spoon on the top of the tumbler. National Guard. Put into a tumbler a teaspoonful of icing sugar, the juice of half a lemon, one wineglass of brandy, one wineglassof Catawba, and a tea- spoonful of raspberry syrup ; fill up the tumbler with shaved ice, shake well, and strain. Nonsuch. Put into a large tumbler one wineglass of claret, one wineglass of brandy, one wineglass of sherry, one wineglass of tea, one wineglass of soda-water, the juice of half a lemon, and a tablespoonful of icing sugar; fill up the tumbler with shaved ice, shake well, and then strain; put on the top a small slice of pineapple. Old Delaware Fishing. Dissolve in a large tumbler one tablespoonful of icing sugar, the juice of half a lemon, and twelve drops of lime-juice ; nearly fill the glass with shaved ice, add one wineglass each of St. Croix rum and old brandy, stir well, orna ment with fruit in season, and serve.
