This beverage is simply a julep on a small plan.

GIN SMASH

Use small bar glass

One-half tablespoonful of white sugar.

One tablespoonful of water. One wineglass of gin.

Fill two-thirds full of shaved ice,use two sprigs of mint,the same as in the recipe for mint julep. Lay two small pieces of orange on top,and ornament with berries in season.

WHISKEY SMASH

Use small bar glass

One-half tablespoonful of One tablespoonful of water, white sugar. One wineglass of whiskey. Fill two-thirds full of shaved ice, and use two sprigs of mint, the same as in the recipe for mint julep.
