THE CLASSED WHITE WINES.

From the disiricts of SAUTERNES and BARSAC come the finest while wines produced in the Gironde. As with the famous Medoc Clarets, they are classed into numliered " Growths," and the practice of Chateau Bottling is carried on in the same way among the very best marks. A great quantity of excellent white wine is ob tained from the Graves vineyards, but the output of red wine from that district is consideral:)ly greater.

The Sauternes district, on the contrary, is famous solely on account of its wonderfvl luscious while wines.
