CUPS & PUNCHES
Heat a bottle ofstrong ale in a saucepan, and while heating, add: ^teaspoonful powdered cinnamon teaspoonful of nutmeg ^teaspoonful ofginger On the side, beat twoyolks ofeggs, together with two teaspoonsful ofbrown sugar. When the ale, etc., has almost boiled,pour in the egg andsugar mixture andstir slowly and well. When thoroughly blended, add 2 measures of Scotch whisky and serve as hot as possible. A wonderful drinkfor winter chills.
Auld Man's Milk
1 pint brandy 14 pint Curacao (yellow) 2 lemon peels (yellow part) I quart hot tea I pint dark rum strained juice of4 lemons 114 teaspoonfuls Orgeat syrup or orange flower water
Shanghai Cossack Punch
This is simmered up once over a spirit lamp, and poured offsteaming to each guest, who sweetens to taste—most adding a dash or two oforange flower water.
