Ground to coai-se powder, macerate with 4J gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent.,for two weeks, or displace (see Nos. 4 and 5); add 4|lbs. of bro^vn sugar, boiled,and clarified with 51 gaUons of pure water (see No.6); color it with 71 ounces of sugar coioring, dark brown. (See No 88) Filter. . ^ 43. Bitters,Essence. If lb. of orange peel, lb. of orange apples. Ground to coarse powder; macerate or displace with 7f gallons of alcohol, 95 per cent., mixed with 2| gallons of water. Filter.
