GIGGLE WATER 167. ROMAN PUNCH

(Use small bar-glass) Take i tablespoonful of powdered white sugar, dis solved in a little water I tablespoonful of raspberry syrup I teaspoonful of Curagoa I wine-glass of Jamaica rum wine-glass of brandy The juice of half a lemon Fill with shaved ice, shake well, d^h with Port wine, and ornament with fruits in season. Serve with a straw.

168, CHAMPAGNE PUNCH

(One quart of punch) Take i quart bottle of Champagne wine 3 tablespoonfuls of sugar 1 orange sliced The juice of a lemon 2 slices of pineapple (cut in small pieces) I wine-glass of raspberry or strawberry syrup

Ornament with fruits in season, and serve in Cham pagne goblets. This can be made in any quantity by observing the proportions of the ingredients as given above. Four bottles of wine make a gallon, and a gallon is generally sufficient for fifteen persons in a mixed party.
