1930 The Saloon in the Home

CIDER DRINKERS C IDER drinkers are particularly sl!bject to rheumatism, to inflamed eyelids, to headache, bleeding at the nose, to sores and ulcers, difficult and tedious to cure, to afflic– tions of the stomach and bowels, and premature trembling of the hand and head. They are the most brutish and cruel of the un– happy tribe of the inebriates. An old orchard and a distillery are almost invariably indices of widows, orphans, poverty and drunkenness.
