COCKTAILS

Zombie (America)

{This is a recipe given to me in 1934 by American Spirits, Inc., New Tork.) %oz. pineapple juice (unsweetened) %oz. papaya nectar (canned) juice ofone good sized lime %oz. barspoon powdered sugar %oz. apricot brandy 1 oz. dark rum (tropical heavy bodies— 90 proof) 2 oz. dark rum (gold label 8—86 proof) Shake well with cubed or cracked ice and pour the entire contents ofthe shaker, without strain ing, into a zombie glass {14 oz-frosted glass). Add cubed ice tofill glass. Decorate with sprig ofmint, small cube ofpine apple and one green and one red cherry. Pierce fruits with a toothpick. Place toothpick on glass so thatfruits are suspended over the drink. Float on top ofthe drink a dash ofrum, tropical heavy bodied—191 proof Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and serve with straws.

Americano (Italy) Pour into a goblet glass:

1 measure of Campari bitters 2 measures sweet Vermouth Add large lump ofice, slice oforange, twist of lemon peel and dash ofsyphon soda.
